(Δια Ελληνικον κειμενον, ειδε video 002)
Maria Loupidou (Μαρία Λουπίδου) shows EXEMPLARY vocal positioning and articulation while speaking Greek.
Ever since 1974, one notes a worldwide decadence in speech: vocal positioning is LOWERED in the pharynx and vocal articulation is progressively attenuated, leading to an overall "mumbling". One may add the lack of vocabulary and the addition of "aaaaa", "eeee", etc, probably due to the lack of learning by heart various poems and theatrical plays, as was done in the "good old days".
This contemporary phenomenon has almost completely ABOLISHED the expression of punctuation signs, leading thus to a rather quick ATTENUATION or even DISAPPEARANCE of correct linguistic expression.
Few are the peoples or cultures that pay attention to such linguistic details.
As far as Greeks are concerned, such is the case mainly from those coming from Constantinople (and having geen established in Thessaloniki), Pontos and various islands.
Those speaking in 4E Greek Orthodox TV - especially the ladies - are all exemplary as well, at least in vocal positioning.
The reason is perhaps that these ladies really stuck to traditional Hellenic upbringing as well as religious morals and traditions.
One should try recording and sharing more of these programs, for they are quite educative from quite a number of perspectives.
In this video clip and others, Maria Loudidou ARTICULATES correctly, RESPECTS punctuation signs (e.g. she raises her voice at a correct fifth for a number of accents , and also does conclusions at lower notes for periods). Furthermore, she maintains a HOMOGENOUS expression in VOLUME as well as in the FLOW of her speech, in such way as to reveal the MUSCIALITY as well as the soothing PSYCHOLOGICAL relaxation that can be provided by our Greek language.
There are a number of #χαυνο εισπνοες# (chauno inspirations) but,
-in contrast to some Byzantine music teachers and priestesses who produce them in INDISCREET as well as FREQUENT manner thus changing ecclesiastical chant into DECADENT, VULGAR recordings appropriate only for pornographic films
--Maria Loupidou maintains these "chauno-inspirations" comfortably within the limits of what may otherwise be considered as appeals for "seduction" and "synkinesis".
Overall, Maria Loupidou provides us with a presentation where her SPEECH, POSTURE, LOOK into camera etc.. are exemplary of Hellenic well-balanced LEBENTIA and DECENCY.
Whoever can record more of these programs should do so, for they are worth it for a great number of reasons.
